Exploring marine microbes at molecular, cellular, and ocean scales

We are a curiosity-driven group working at the intersection of cell biology, microbial oceanography, and biogeochemistry. We study the molecular processes that shape marine microbial metabolism and examine how these processes influence broader biogeochemical cycles. To do this, we develop and use a combination of cutting-edge subcellular proteomics, metaproteomics, physiology, and rate measurements.

We believe that science and discovery should be, and could be, accessible to anyone, anywhere. Whenever possible, we use accessible tools and software in our research and outreach. We share our code is publicly on GitHub and make our protocols available on protocols.io
