Current Research Projects
We study marine microbes on computers, in the lab, and in the ocean
We use novel subcellular omics methods to map the subcellular distribution and functions of proteins, elements, and macromolecules within marine microbial cells.
Laboratory culturing of marine microbes
We culture a range of marine microbes under environmentally relevant laboratory conditions (various light, temperature, and nutrient regimes), and quantify their growth, physiology, and molecular responses using mass spectrometry based proteomics. More to come soon!

Metaproteomics and biogeochemistry
We use metaproteomics and complementary data from oceanographic research expeditions to examine how microbial communities influence ocean biogeochemistry. More to come soon!
